Why is PULP Moving to Wednesdays?

Dear Friends and Family,
PULP is moving to Wednesday Nights starting Wednesday May 27th! We’ve decided to make this change for a few reasons. Czar has been presented with an opportunity to appeal to a broader audience on Fridays and have opted for a new night called “Filthy Richard” which will be designed around MONK’s version of an Indie / Underground Video Night. While the music we play at PULP is gaining acceptance in the mainstream, we’d prefer to move it in the other direction — new and groundbreaking. Expect to hear some more bass heavy dance music, wobble, fidget and a boatload of breaking stuff that we just can’t play on the weekend. It has always been our ambition to stay ahead of the curve which is why all of the other parties we are involved with take place on weekdays. It allows us more flexibility with less attention to “the bottom line”. After literally weeks of meetings trying to find a way to squeeze every penny out of the night we realized that it was exactly opposite of what our original ambitions were. Some of the things we threw around were: adding a surcharge to underagers and reducing expense on national talent. Our goal was and is to introduce as many people to this sound as possible and all of those changes would have been counter-productive to that thesis. Further, this change allows us to book more artists, cheaper and again with less care for the bottom line. If you have good maths. This is a more helpful explanation:

Hope that helps.

We sympathize with the pressures of running a venue in this economic climate and love working with Czar so instead of moving to a new location we’ve decided to keep the family strong and deliver a more innovative product than ever… now on Wednesdays.Czar will begin their new Video  Format Indie / Underground Party Featuring MONK on Friday May 22nd and PULP will be moving to Wednesdays starting May 27th. One other change that is slightly important is that the free drinks at the horn will be swapped out for 25 cent drinks at the horn. In our opinion twenty-five cents is not too much to ask and it will encourage everyone to tip their hardworking bartenders. PULP has been a hugely successful night. The crowds have been unprecedented and we hope that you all follow us and show the same love and support for innovation on Wednesdays that you have done on Fridays.

Same guest list.
Same DJs.
Same wild bartenders.
Almost the same drink specials.
New Night.

@pulptheparty forever!

In the words of Oprah Winfrey, we tweet your name.
In the words of Manfred Man, wrapped up like a deuce (douche) in the middle of a tweet.
In the words of Klaus Meine, here I am. Tweet you like a hurricane.
In the roughly translated words of The Netherlands Prime-minister Kok, “great opportunities to enlarge and enhance the economic relations between the two countries. The further development of the Russian economy will give us more chances for cooperation.”
Who knew Kok would come in handy?
